Wizard Boat Works is an innovation project driven by environmental responsibility and intelligent efficiency. It began with a clear challenge: how can we move across water using far less energy without sacrificing performance? The result is a lightweight, low-drag motorboat designed to carry four adults with hand luggage at 15 knots for an hour, using approximately £10 of fuel — demonstrating that thoughtful hull design can outperform excess horsepower.

The project explores marine construction through a different material lens. Rather than relying solely on conventional fibreglass systems, Wizard integrates bio-based resins, flax and linen fibre reinforcement, recycled inputs, and selective PLA 3D-printed components to reduce waste and enable rapid prototyping.

Developed in collaboration with McCafferty Designs, Wizard Boat Works combines naval architecture, textile innovation and circular material thinking. It stands as a practical craft and ongoing live project — still in development and open to collaborative partners seeking to integrate further environmental and engineering solutions.
